FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is StrixGeo?

A desktop platform for building ground models. It turns CPT, borehole and laboratory data into stratigraphical, lithological and geotechnical models, with derived parameters and statistics for each unit.

Which data can I import today?

CPTs (.gef) and boreholes (.xml), plus public laboratory data. In Belgium, public CPT data from DOV can be imported by drawing an area on the map. More sources and laboratory tests are in development.

Which regions are supported?

Belgium (Flanders) first, including public DOV data. The Netherlands is wired in and will follow once its data is loaded.

Does StrixGeo do design calculations?

No — by design. It builds and validates the ground model; design checks such as settlement, bearing capacity and Eurocode (EC7) stay in the tools you export to, like PLAXIS, D-Sheet and GeoStudio.

What are the three models?

The stratigraphical model (by formation and member) and the lithological model (by material) are interpreted separately, then synthesised into the geotechnical model — the single ground model you work from.

Can I export to PLAXIS, D-Sheet or GeoStudio?

Export and reporting are in active development and planned for the bèta period. They will use stable unit identifiers so your model stays consistent across tools.

What does it cost?

The bèta is free. Pricing for the full release will be announced later — people on the waitlist hear first.

How do I join the bèta?

Add your email on the Download page. When the bèta opens, approved testers receive a download link and a personal bèta key.

Is my data private?

StrixGeo is a desktop application — your project data stays on your own machine. The website itself sets no analytics or advertising trackers; see the Privacy and Cookie policies.

Which platforms are supported?

Windows first, with macOS to follow shortly after.
